By car - Emeraude ferries to St Malo. Then it takes between 1H 35m and 4Hours (depending on who is navigating and what car you take!).
From StMalo, follow signs towards Rennes and then Lorient/Vannes. On arrival at Vannes, look for signs to 'MEUCON' or Airport signs.
Before you reach the control tower, take a left signposted to the Parachute Centre.
(you can also exit the RN before reaching Vannes and take a short cut across country;
Take the exit and follow signs to Elven, and then to Monterblanc. From Monterblanc, follow signs to airport (or campsite - the signs
run out just after the pizza place in the military zone, so take a left towards the campsite)
By Air - about one hour flying time from Jersey (or 20mins if you are in Air Farce One!).
3,800M lifts are 135FF ish (you can also jump lower, but why?!)
Rigs are available at no charge if you are training. Minimal charge if you have a 'b' license.
Helmets and altis also available, but not much choice and you are realy expected to have your own once off AFF.
No suits for loan or hire unless you are one of their courses.
Unless you do your AFF with them you will need to have at least an A license.
You will need the Federation Francais de Parachutism 3rd party insurance to jump, but If you are visiting with a (eg. USPA or BPA) license they can issue you with FFP insurance for free.
Theoretically, you can jump up to 15 days in a year without joining, but you are then expected to join the club (about 250FF?).
Tandems are quite cheap if you have a friend who wants a bit of excitement...
Pack jobs usually cost 5Euros but they dont always have packers, so there may be a bit of a wait if you dont pack yourself!
'JOB HERVE' does the rigging and also tandems etc, talk nicely to him and also to the 'Directeur Technique' and Mr. Manifest.
The pack room is nice and roomy (except some weekends!). DONT put their rigs directly on the floor - use a mat or Job will be most displeased...
Watch out for the turbulance if the wind is coming from behind the clubhouse - it can be a bit nasty!
They dont mind if you land the other side of the grass runway and walk back (but please watch out for the planes!).
Camping is available cheap (5 Euros?) to skydivers and 2-3 bed basic rooms are fairly cheap. Book in advance if you can.
Its advisable to take your own bedding or sleeping bag etc. Showers and toilets are adequate.
Hotel 'La Voltige' might be an idea if you like more comfort. It's just around the corner, has a good cheap restaurant, and is far less basic than the DZ rooms.
0033 02 97 60 72 06 (as recommended by Richard "Skygod" Pedley).
Super-U within a few miles for shopping, and a decent little bar/cafe/shop ("Pirate Petes") is quite close and also does good takeaway Pizzas.
Its near to the Marine Barracks (you can tell by the amount of porn on sale in the shop)...
Ask for directions when you get there. The shop is open on Sunday and lunchtimes (unlike most things in France!).
Theres a club bar at the DZ, but no food available (except from a vending machine - nuke it yourself). There is a small kitchen and TV lounge by the bar for club members to use (Microwave, kettle etc) and there is a BBQ area (supply your own charcoal).
The Bar-du-Centre in Monterblanc does a three course lunch (with wine included!) for about 8 Euros. Useful on non-diving days.
If it's really claggy weather, theres some surfing at the coast (Quiberon - ask Richard/Kev) and Vannes town has a nice shopping centre.
(market day Saturday).
